"Kodakara Sodo" (Kid Commotion)
1935 / Shochiku Kinema Kamata FilmStudio
Director: Torajiro Saito
Genre: Comedy
Runtime: 34 min
The Fukuda family is poor with many children; the seventh child is forthcoming and Mr. Fukuda is jobless, and can hardly afford their basic needs.
When Mrs. Fukuda experiences a complicated child birth, her husband rushes off to find a midwife. However, nobody is available as all midwives are attending the birth of the rich baron's pig. When, Mr. Fukuda tries borrowing money from a local geisha house - by using his daughter as collateral, he is rejected. Things were looking glum when the wheel of fortune suddenly spins in Fukuda's favour…
This silent Jaanese slapstick is the most ccelebrated film by Torajiro Saito, famous for his comedies. Charlie Chaplin's influence is evident in this film, which reveals Saito's distinctive sense of humor. The benshi’s (motion picture narrators) use of humorous words is another main characteristic of the film.

acclaimed mix of spoken word poetry, jazz, punk, soul, afro-latin, metal, and a mad sundry of
musical styles sprinkled with massive doses of humor and irony. The Radioactive Sago Project's
perennially surprising stylistic excursions have earned them a cult following, from critics to art
fans, even to discerning rock audiences.
