The Japan Foundation’s Teaching Skills Program for Nihongo Teachers:
“Practice Teaching Course (PT-a)”
(April 8, 2008 – May 6, 2008)
The Japan Foundation, Manila in its continuing effort for the professional enrichment of Filipino Nihongo Teachers (their development and advancement of Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology) and in general, for the further encouragement of Japanese Language Education in the Philippines, will open on 8 April (Tuesday) a Nihongo Teaching Skills Program under the title - “Practice Teaching Course (PT-a)”
The course is open to active or aspiring Nihongo teachers who wish to take basic training of teaching Japanese. Applicants must have already mastered elementary level Nihongo (JLPT Level- 3 or equivalent). Participants of this course will take instructions about the basic skills of classroom teaching and will be required to do partial practice teaching.
The course covers 4 weeks (16 hours) with classes to be held every Tuesday and Thursday (6:20 pm – 8:30 pm) from April 8 – May 6, 2008 at the Japan Foundation, Manila. Tuition (inclusive of all materials) costs P1,500.00.
Application must be done by the submission of a duly accomplished application form together with the applicant’s curriculum vitae (in English). Deadline for application is on Monday - 31 March. There will be a level check interview by appointment between Tuesday - 1 April and Thursday- 3 April.
