The Japan Foundation’s Nihongo Proficiency Program for Nihongo Teachers:
“Sensei no Nihongo 2 (SN2)”

The Japan Foundation, Manila in its continuing effort for the professional enrichment of Filipino Nihongo Teachers (their development and advancement of Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology) and in general, for the further encouragement of Japanese Language Education in the Philippines, will open on 9 April (Wednesday) a Nihongo Proficiency Program under the title - “Sensei no Nihongo 2”.
The course is open to active Nihongo teachers and to those planning to become Nihongo teachers. Applicants are expected to have already mastered lower elementary level Nihongo (JLPT Level- 4 or equivalent). The course covers Lessons 39 to 50 of “Minna no Nihongo”. Basic practice of reading, writing and discussions about culture will also be included.
The course covers 64 hours; classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday (6:20 pm – 8:30 pm) from April 9 - July 30, 2008 at the Japan Foundation, Manila. Tuition and handouts cost P5,000.00. Those who have passed the JFM Sensei no Nihongo1 will pay only P4,000.00.
As a privilege for first time enrollees, two types of “Minna no Nihongo” textbooks - the Main Textbook, and the Translation & Grammatical Notes, will be given (free of charge).
Application must be done by the submission of a duly accomplished application form together with the applicant’s curriculum vitae (in English). Deadline for application is on Monday - 31 March. There will be a qualifying level check (written test) on Wednesday - 2 April (6:20 pm – 7:30 pm).
