The Japan Foundation’s Nihongo Proficiency Program for Nihongo Teachers：
“Sensei no Nihongo: Advanced Reading & Writing (SNA)”
(April 12, 2008 – August 2, 2008)

The Japan Foundation, Manila in its continuing effort for the professional enrichment of Filipino Nihongo Teachers (their development and advancement of Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology) and in general, for the further encouragement of Japanese Language Education in the Philippines, will open on 12 April (Saturday) a Nihongo Proficiency Program under the title - “Sensei no Nihongo: Advanced Reading & Writing”.

The course is open to active Nihongo teachers who wish to further improve their Japanese proficiency especially in the skills of reading and writing. Those who wish to join a teacher training program in Japan, to study in the field of JLE in Japan and/or to make research in related fields are most welcome. Applicants are expected to have intermediate level of Nihongo proficiency (JLPT Level- 2 or equivalent). In this course, participants will review expressions in written style Nihongo, practice reading by using various strategies, write short paragraphs and give short speeches.

The course covers 48 hours; with classes to be held every Saturday (9:30 am – 12:30 pm) from April 12 – August 2, 2008 at the Japan Foundation, Manila. Tuition (inclusive of all materials) costs P4,500.00.

Application must be done by the submission of a duly accomplished application form together with the applicant’s curriculum vitae (in English). Deadline for application is on Monday - 31 March. There will be a qualifying level check (written test) on Thursday- 3 April (6:20 pm – 7:30 pm).
