  • “TAMA ’08 - Tupada Action and Media Art
    The 5th International Action Art Event”

    A five-day art event composed of art forums, workshops, action art performances, and artists interactions. Japanese performance artists participating this year are Ms. Kana Fukushima, Mr. Tomoki Kimpara, Mr. Osamu Kuroda, Mr. Shohei Nomoto, Ms. Harumi Terao, and Mr. Seiji Shimoda, organizer of the Nippon International Performance Art Festival (NIPAF).

  • “2nd Mangaholix Convention”

A summer event organized by the Groundbreakers, Inc, publishers of the Mangaholix comic series, bringing together manga, anime, and gaming enthusiasts for a whole day of activities which include contests on speed and on-line drawing, an anime/ manga trivia challenge, showdown for making a 10-page manga, live performances by indie bands, and booths by indie artists, and a cosplay competition.

  • “Southeast Asian Geography Association’s (SEAGA)
    International Conference”

The conference will bring together 150 participants and 100 paper presentations that revolve around nature and society, culture and politics, gender and migration, hazards and mitigation, development and sustainability, globalization and social movements, cities and rural transformations and geographic education.

  • “KAPWA-2 Filipino Psychology and Indigenous Knowledge:
    The Relevance of Local Frameworks in the Global Age”

The conference will examine the relevance of Sikolohiyang Pilipino and the ancestral indigenous knowledge systems and practices (IKSP) in the 21st century. It will also provide a forum on intangible heritage.

  • “JAPFUN: Isang buwang selebrasyon at
    eksplorasyon ng wika at kulturang Hapon”

A month-long celebration with various activities showcasing the richness of Japan’s language and culture. The activities that would feature the uniqueness of Japan's culture and language includes exhibition of popular Japanese animations and dramas, workshops and demonstrations on ikebana, origami, kitsuke, kabuki and the dances and instruments of Japan. There will also be lectures that will draw attention to the intricacies of the Japanese language. The lectures would concentrate on the acquisition of the Japanese language by Filipino students on topics rarely discussed in language classes such as culture and everyday life in Japan.

  • “4th National Children’s Competition on Dramatic Folk Expressions”
    by INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF FOLK ARTS PHILIPPINES FOUNDATION

    Marikina Sports Center, Marikina City

A dance-drama competition showcasing the authentic dance steps, costumes and music indigenous to the different participating regional contestants. It is a competition open to all public elementary school children from all over the country
