• The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is conducted both in Japan and outside Japan to evaluate and certify the language proficiency of primarily non-native speakers of Japanese. The test is administered by the Japan Foundation, outside of Japan and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services, within Japan.

                  The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (New JLPT since 2010 – N1, N2, N3, N4, & N5) – the world’s largest-scale Japanese-Language test,  will be held on Sunday - July 2, 2017; it will commence simultaneously at 1:00 p.m. in three (3) different test sites – at the De La Salle University (DLSU) Taft Ave., Manila, Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD), Angliongto Ave., Lanang, Davao City and at theUniversity of San Carlos (Talamban Campus), Nasipit, Talamban, Cebu City. The JLPT is administered worldwide, by the Japan Foundation in cooperation with other cultural exchange/educational institutions, in order to evaluate and certify the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers.

      Application Procedure

            Please be advised that the application procedure has changed -  effective this 2017 July JLPT,  for applicants for Manila and Cebu only.  The paper type of application form has been cancelled and the procedure is divided into two steps as explained hereunder.  For Davao / Mindanao applicants, please refer to the JFM PRESS RELEASE # 486.


      Step 1:


      APPLICANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE from February 1, 2017 toMarch 8, 2017.

      *Online Application Form will be launched from February 1, and could be accessed at the announcement page of the website of The Japan Foundation, Manila .

      Application forms will NOT be accepted after March 8, 2017


      Step 2:

      Pay the corresponding registration fee andsubmit two (2) recent ID size photos (1inch x 1inch) to The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) – for applicants in Metro Manila / Luzon or to the Japanese Association Cebu, Inc. – for applicants in Cebu / Visayas between March 20 - April 7 / Monday to Friday (10:00 am - 12:00 noon / 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm), to complete the Application Procedure.

      *Applicants will only be officially registered for the 2017 JULY 2 JLPT after submitting the corresponding payment and (2pcs) I.D. size photos during the payment period.

      **Only applicants who have registered online will be accommodated during the payment period.

      ***In case the applicant is unable to come to The Japan Foundation, Manila during the payment period, the applicant may have a duly designated representative to complete the registration process

                                    All examinees will receive aScore Report. Results will be available on the JLPT Worldwide Official Website by end of August 2017
