The long wait was over for fans of Japanese music clamoring for a concert in the country, as Japanese visual kei band “Uchusentai NOIZ” rocked the “Best of Anime 2012” at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia last September 15 and 16. The band - performing in Manila for the first time, had fans singing, screaming, and others – even shedding tears of joy, with the two-night electrifying performance. An estimated crowd of over a thousand attended each of the two shows. The event was made even more unforgettable when the band did their live rendition of OPM smash hit “Narda,” sending the whole floor singing along in a chorus. Attendees had a double-treat with the appearance of special guest, OPM rock band Kamikazee.
Presented by The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM), in cooperation with Primetrade Asia, Inc., and Creative Connections & Commons, Inc., with the support of All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd.,andthe Embassy of Japan, the Uchusentai NOIZ special concert was one of the highlights of the “Best of Anime 2012”, bringing a new flare to the annual event.
Prior to the Manila leg of their Philippine tour, the band also performed in Davao where they drew more than a thousand audiences in their three shows.
Formed in 1999, Uchusentai NOIZ is composed of Angel Taka (vocals), Kotaro (guitar), Kyo (bass), Masato (guitar/vocals), and Yamato (drums). Members of the band were delighted by the energy and passion of Filipino fans that they promised to come back to the Philippines soon.
