The Japan Foundation, Manila in consonance with the Department of Education/Bureau of Secondary Education’s “Special Program in Foreign Language” is currently conducting the Summer Intensive Training Course (April 18 - May 22).
The said course is aimed to develop the capacity of high school teacher participants in teaching the Japanese Language (Nihongo) as well as Japanese culture. The teacher participants (enTree 3 course and enTree 2 course) will be gainfully knowledgeable in the Japanese way of life and further acquire Nihongo proficiency and methodology in teaching Nihongo as a foreign language which are essential in the continuing implementation of the Department of Education / Bureau of Secondary Education’s “Special Program in Foreign Language : Japanese” for the school year – June 2012 to March 2013. To date, there are 22 (enTree 3) and 16 (enTree 2) confirmed teacher participants representing 21 science high schools and other public high schools in Metro Manila, Region 7 - Cebu and Region 1 – Pangasinan. The enTree 3 course teacher participants have an Immersion Program in Japan (May 10 – May 19) - Osaka , Kyoto, Tokyoand other localities. May 22 (Tuesday, 2:00 p.m.) is scheduled to be the Closing Ceremony for all the teacher participants; it is to be held at the relocated venue (23/F, Pacific Star Bldg., Makati Ave., Makati City) of The Japan Foundation, Manila.
